Coronado High School has been an I.B. World School since January 2000. Coronado offers the diploma to forty-seven candidates. It has encompasses students from all over the city and has gained students from various feeder patterns, such as the Morehead, Hornedo, Brown, Lincoln, Armendariz, and Ross middle schools.
Coronado's I.B. REquirements
As Coronado I.B. Candidates, it is required that students take certain classes both Higher and Standard Level. Students are required to take History and English Higher Level (HL), Mathematics (either Math Studies or Mathematics) Standard Level (SL), a science, a language, and class of their choice. Students will take three SL tests either their Junior year (in which students can only take two tests) or their Senior Year. Students will also take three HL tests their Senior Year. Each of the classes require an IA, an Internal Assessment, which is an assignment that is turned into I.B.O.
